Information we process
To run your account, we process your email address, account ID, display name, username, and optional profile photo. To provide the archive, we process the item details you save, including categories, tags, notes, photos, and optional purchase or value information.
If you use barcode scan or PhotoID, we process the barcode or photo you choose to submit and the resulting catalog or identification suggestions. We also keep limited scan diagnostics, such as barcode and scan outcome, for up to 30 days to improve reliability.
How we use it
We use this information to authenticate you, store and display your archive, sync it across your signed-in devices, provide barcode and photo identification, enforce plan allowances, respond to support requests, and protect the service from misuse.
Service providers
Ownzith uses Supabase for authentication, database, and private file storage. Purchases are handled by Apple and subscription status is managed through RevenueCat. When you request a lookup, Ownzith may send the barcode to UPCitemDB, Go-UPC, or Metron, and a submitted PhotoID image to OpenAI. Those providers process the request under their own terms and privacy policies. Ownzith does not receive or store your payment-card details.
Retention and deletion
Your account and archive data are kept while your account is active. You can export your collection from Settings before deleting it. In Settings, choose Delete Account and confirm the request to permanently remove your Ownzith account, collection records, photos, local archive cache, and account-linked service records. This does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage that through your Apple account.
Some transaction records may remain with Apple or other providers where they are required to retain them under their own policies or law.
Your choices
Camera and photo-library access are optional and are only used when you choose to add or identify an item. You can update your profile, export your archive, manage a subscription through Apple, or delete your account in the app. Contact [email protected] for privacy help.
